I was very fortunate to be invited to be part of the @Modenus #BlogTourVegas in January 2015, not only because I was able to attend the KBIS/IBS exhibition to see what new things were coming to the market in America, but I also had the opportunity to meet fellow Bloggers/Designers from all over the US and Canada. Spending time with them certainly was a great deal of fun and I have made magnificent contacts in them. It goes without saying that I've come back to New Zealand revitalised and raring to go!
As usual I’m possibly the last one to hand in their homework, but I’m sure I can be forgiven as my feet have barely touched the ground since returning. However here it is and over the next few blogs I will share my thoughts on what I saw, products that have come to the market and of course more about the sponsors involved.
Aura Dekton by Cosentino have release five new colours! For those that don’t know what on earth this is, the best way I can describe it is it’s like a very large porcelain tile that looks like a natural stone which can be used almost anywhere both indoors and outdoors and is virtually indestructible. Dekton by Cosentino have a new face of the Brand, none other than Rafael Nadal. To watch their You Tube video follow this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vwxdW_wAlk
Silestone by Cosentino have new collaborations with influential designers across USA, five to be exact which is a first of its kind within this brand in 25 years.
I've always been a great believer in suppliers collaborating with the designers to ensure colours and design coming to the market place will have a place with the end user. Hats off to Silestone for doing this! I would love to see a similar collaboration with designers down under. The Australasian market is quite different to the US these might not be to our palate, in saying that I can see that Copper Mist by Julia Buckingham and Lusso by Courtney Cachet could work well within our designs. www.silestone.com
Thermador is not a brand that you would generally hear about in New Zealand or Australia, it’s an American appliance company that specialises in big, bold and industrial style appliances since 1932. At the KBIS/IBS show they launch their new built in steam and convection ovens as well as their induction top (which we call a no zone induction top). www.thermador.com
I also attended their magnificent event for the #BlogTourVegas at the iconic Las Vegas Country Club, which is quite the place I particularly love the photos of the 'Brat Pack' on the entrance hall, gave a real sense of the people that have grace these rooms in times gone by.
Wilsonart, like many others released new ranges at the show in both their Quartz and Laminates. Adding another aspect to their range they now provide Quartz to their company with 50 designs inspired by “discovery” which covers different colours and textures. Obviously I can’t show you all 50, but here is a snippet of their stand. www.wilsonart.com
There is so much more to share and I'll hope you will join me with my next blog..
