Mal Corboy has worked for our company for the past 10 years. He focuses on high quality and beautiful luxury designs. Mal has designed our exclusive luxury lodge and range in the north, The Range NZ. We were thrilled with his overall focus and vision and quality products used. He has also designed EYE magazine offices and a luxury apartment in the city with an outstanding result. Mal and his team are highly skilled with fulfilling the entire design concept and project management and his attention to detail is incredible.

Mal has helped us twice to create the most amazing homes, first a renovation on a three-storey house seven years ago, then a high-end apartment last year. Mal acted as our interior designer providing guidance on all our interior decor matters. He has creative display skills which are modern yet classic and elegant. His guidance and knowledge of colour schemes, furniture, flooring, cabinetry, home appliances and accessories, are truly invaluable. We found Mal’s sense of lighting totally magical! We have recently completed a major re-build of our townhouse in Parnell. Mal Corboy of Mal Corboy Design was engaged at the outset to do interior design work and source product, organize prices, recommend and manage the appointed contractors and provide advice on all matters related to the interior work. Mal’s work included kitchen, bathroom, wall unit and wardrobe design work, selection of interior colours, carpet, timber flooring, drapes, blinds, tiles, door handles and plumbing fittings, organizing the lighting company and fittings and managing the interior sub-contractors recommended by him. Mal was great to work with. All his work was of the highest standard. Designs proposed were outstanding, work was completed extremely promptly and to a high standard and Mal responded immediately when issues arose. We were absolutely delighted with all the work done by Mal and with the final result. The completed interior looks outstanding. We would be extremely happy to work with Mal again on any future project and would strongly recommend him to anyone requiring interior work of the kind referred to above.

I came across Mals work whilst looking at a magazine prior to boarding a flight to Australia, being a practical person involved in an Automotive Engineering business I had reservations about using a designer as I like to do everything myself. I had been an admirer of Mals work for some time and when we moved house last year I immediately thought of him when it came to the kitchen design. We have renovated several houses in the past but wanted to put in something special this time and create a space that was a working kitchen but was also a focal point in an open living space. From our initial meeting with Mal it was obvious he was very professional and as we wanted to inject some color Mal ran with it. The whole process couldn’t have run any smoother and Mals attention to detail is what gives the kitchen a very special look and feel. The result is a space that we absolutely love, with very crisp clean lines during the day but an even more beautiful feel during the evening due to the very cleverly designed light boxes. Everything comes alive and we have a living breathing piece of art. We cannot recommend Mal highly enough from design conception to finished result a totally enjoyable and stress-free process.

I came across a kitchen designed by Mal Corboy in a magazine and was immediately attracted to everything about it. After several communications with Mal, I felt comfortable that Mal would do a great design for me. I love the lightness of this kitchen; it’s modern and streamlined finishes, the abundance of storage and the scullery where I can close the doors when visitors arrive for dinner. I will often walk into the room at night and marvel at the different moods and effects I can achieve with the lighting, matching accessories to change color schemes. I have never believed a designer would add any value to a project until we decided to renovate our kitchen at (Metropolis). From the first phone call to the final inspection (the Designer) was extremely professional and very easy to work with. Having been on the manufacturing side his understanding of how to get the most out of small spaces was great. He listened to what we wanted to achieve and left armed with a small picture of a bar stool that he had to design an entertainer’s kitchen around. When the plans and concept drawings arrived we were blown away and to be able to step back and watch everything fall into place was amazing. We were kept well informed throughout the project but (Mal Corboy) took care of everything. We ended up with a fantastic original designer kitchen and an understanding of the value the right designer can bring to any project. Would I use a designer again? I would never not

Our architect had designed us a contemporary home however our kitchen plan was a basic u-shape to allow us to have maximum window space to take advantage of our views, and a walk-through to a scullery area. This meant we had some constrictions but wanted to turn what we had into something special. We were keen to have glass fronts on our cupboards and drawers and ideally to match the colour of the gaggenau stove. We also wanted the kitchen to complement and not detract from our lovely coastal views but were open to “pushing the boundaries” Mal exceeded our expectations and gave us a sleek modern kitchen with colour matched deco-glazed fronts complemented by a minimalistic free-formed corian bench counter which came with the “piece de resistance”, L.E.D lighting set into the perimeter of the counter top. We and our architect enjoyed working with Mal and found him innovative as well as practical and have ended up with a kitchen that looks superb, works well and much praised by visitors to our home as we can now enjoy entertaining.

After admiring Mal Corboy’s work in a number of publications, we absolutely fell in love with his clean, modern approach to kitchen design. We were a bit weary about working with a designer located so far away (the job site being in Southern California, USA), but after speaking with him and being reassured about how smooth the process would be, (not to mention how affordable it could be) we were convinced he was the right man for the job. Indeed, the project could not have gone more smoothly. He worked closely with us during the concept phase to design the kitchen of our dreams, and addressed all the little details we hadn’t thought of… answering to any concerns we had along the way. He had everything delivered as scheduled, paid attention to the smallest of details to ensure a proper installation to avoid any unforeseen complications, and his installers installed the whole project very proficiently, the kitchen came out beautiful, unique and absolutely fabulous. We still, and will continue to, recommend Mal to all of our friends and acquaintances wanting a uniquely designed space, and a wonderful designer to work with.
